A lover of recipes and yet I didn't know we had so many great cookbooks out there called "Chef's Table". When I first learned that Maria was undertaking the task of creating San Diego's Chef Table cookbook I was intrigued. Upon hearing more and more about the good food and Slow Food Community members inside the cookbook I got even more excited. I pre-ordered and glad I did - this book does NOT disappoint.Here in San Diego we have some amazing chefs that are working with local farms and farmer's to bring us the best and to do their part to keep San Diego's waters blue and our environment green. Maria has captured the heart of these good folks and highlighted their efforts. It's beautiful visually, it's content about each chef and restaurant is delightful and most importantly the recipes are inspiring. I cannot wait to make Hanis' Beet Terrine with Balsamic Syrup (pg. 50), Matt's (pg. 182) cheese and chive biscuits, Tommy's (pg. 166) Fisherman's Stew, Kate's (pg. 46) Quiche and Cups Limone Ricotta cupcakes (pg. 63). I don't dare my hand at sausage, but the description and photo of Nick Brune (pg. 120) with Local Habit always delights. Nick is a true master in the kitchen and his passion along with Adam Hiner's is contagious. While I will always miss El Take It Easy, I'm delighted to learn about more local restaurants and their passionate techniques. Maria has done a beautiful job with this "cookbook" it's really more of a magical journey with San Diego Chef's and getting a peak behind the kitchen door.One recipe on this particular day is standing out for me to get on soon however - pg. 184 - Pan Roasted Duck Breast with Roasted Squash from the US Grant Grant Grill. We love California's amazing Mary's Organic Chicken and Free Range (hormone free) duck breasts and I've been looking for a way to do them justice in my own kitchen.The only thing odd is this book is page 199 - with Brian Malarkey's photo but no recipe and just a pitch for his now defunct Burlap in Del Mar. I don't need to be convinced that for some reason we continue to believe that more tech will solve the world's problems. Rather I believe we have been missing human connection for a very long time, as Mark lays out in this awesome book. I have highlighted many passages in this book, all to utilize in future strategies for my own brand and for clients. Bravo to Mark for creating such a 'human' book.

I love this book. I will go back to it over and over again. I have also taken notes for quick reference. This book is brilliantly written and felt like a mentor was having a conversation with me. As I read it, questions would come to mind and before I knew it I was reading answers to my questions. Is the author reading my mind? Of course not, but it sure felt that way. I am a very blunt and direct person and that is how this book is written. It does a fantastic job of giving you a clear picture of what copywriting is and how it differs from other types of writing.I could go on all day about this book. If you need to understand copywriting and what is expected from copywriters, this book is a must-have!

I must say that I am pleased with this copywriter's handbook. I wasn't sure what to expect from the content as it was purchased based on the reviews I read. He makes it easy to understand and it's an enjoyable read. (He's not trying to impress the reader, he's trying to teach the reader!) For me, it's invaluable data, I know it will help me a lot.

I bought this book as my first copywriting book. I thought it was pretty good, especially the first few chapters, and then the chapter on writing to sell and writing for web content. I did feel that some aspects of the book felt slightly outdated, but it doesn't really take away from the overall message.

He is also a blogger for Edutopia. I have recently purchased this book, at another outlet by chance, and am highly pleased with its content. If you want to throw a party with great drinks with even greater names, fabulous finger foods - or have a small dinner with appetizing results, invest in this book. I was so excited, since my life now revolves around hosting, to find a book that is immaculately put together and will not hurt the bank. The only thing I can not believe is that I hadn't found this book sooner. Why is it hiding on amazon? This book should be advertized more.Suggestion: Use this book to organize and throw a fabulous party, and at said party, hand out a menu with a list of the names of these drinks. The guests will not know what to do with themselves and I promise it will garner an oustanding response from the revelers. You may never get to go to sleep ;)Enjoy.

With fifteen years of beverage catering all over the world under my belt, I can assure anybody considering this book: buy it! Planning parties always involves lots of stressful details, calculations, planning, and organization that make the process a headache rather than a joy. This book does the opposite, thankfully. Miss Charming helps anybody from a pro to a home enthusiast handle everything without forgetting about the fun and creativity that every cocktail party should have. It's a fun, easy read packed with useful information including resources, recipes, and helpful hints. The recipes are great and well-written, unlike most cocktail recipe books which confuse even the most seasoned bartender with vague procedures and obscure ingredients and feature lots of unpleasant recipes that nobody drinks these days. Not this one: Cheryl explains in plain english every delicious recipe so your cocktails come out perfect. The hints and tips she provides are worth the price of the book alone.
